Encapsulation Capabilities
Innovation in Disinfectants
Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd has gathered extensive experience during our journey to deliver disinfectant products to the world; this has enabled us to inherently understand the importance that these type of products play in healthcare, and as a result, we have developed a microencapsulation technology to improve the biocidal and antibacterial efficacy of many disinfectants.
Comparative studies for some disinfectants/antiseptics such as Octenidine, Benzalkonium Chloride, Chlorhexidine gluconate, and Cetrimide have shown that encapsulation increases efficacy by a factor of at least 3.
Advantages of Encapsulation
Our encapsulation technology facilitates the production of finished products that are more skin-friendly and certified as alcohol-free.
Benzalkonium Chloride (BKC), for example, being a water-soluble ingredient, can be diluted and then be washed away from hard surfaces.
Encapsulated BKC applied on a hard surface forms a thin and invisible film that retains the BKC and thus retains the disinfectant properties' efficacy.
The release of BKC is triggered with moisture at the applied area.
Encapsulated disinfectants:
- skin-friendly
- alcohol-free
- long-lasting protection
- safer in handling and ease to formulate
- release on-demand, ensuring biocidal activity is initiated contact with moisture (i.e., perspiration) at the proximate location
Applications of encapsulated disinfectants
- Personal care and cosmetic products.
- Spray or fog disinfectants for all-purpose surface sanitation.
- Antimicrobial cleaning of algae, lichens, fungi, bacteria from swimming pools, roof tiles, various surfaces, and any moist places.
- We are also motivated to support customers by developing and manufacturing custom solutions.
